Its Final Delicious has A New Owner and They Aren’t Shutting Down Delicious!

1304000203 delicious thumb Its Final Delicious has A New Owner and They Aren’t Shutting Down Delicious! Late last night I received an email from Yahoo! Since I never get emails from Yahoo!, I was curious to see what it was about. To my surprise, it was an announcement that Delicious was sold to AVOS, the creators of YouTube. The best part is that AVOS is keeping the services alive and will be revamping the service very soon.
To keep using Delicious you must agree to allow Yahoo! to transfer your bookmarks, user accounts, and profile to AVOS.

How To Transfer Delicious Bookmarks To AVOS?

In order to keep using MUST move your bookmarks to AVOS. If you do not, you will lose your account and all your saved bookmarks. So unless you want to start over, then agree to Yahoo! to move your accounts to AVOS. To move your account is simple. All you have to is log into your delicious account and you will see a “Transfer Your Bookmarks” form. Fill this form out. All you have to do is enter in your first name, last name, and your email address. Once you do that, then Delicious will transfer your account information over to the old way of logging into the system. They will assign you a user name (based on your account user name) and then you will be asked to create a password.
Once, you have completed this process, then start using the user name and password that was assigned to you.

Final Thoughts

Most have heard of the rumors that Delicious was going to be shut down. Because of that, I wrote an article about alternatives to Delicious. The article has a lot of services to choose from, all of them are great, but none of them are as popular as Delicious. So with the purchase of Delicious by EVOS, I look forward to seeing how this new venture for them will work out and what they have in store for Delicious. Hopefully they will add more features and have a more user-friendly services like some of the alternative bookmarking services have. So if you haven’t got an account, head over there and create an account, and start bookmarking. The service is not dead, and soon will be revamped!
